The HTC Sensation XL comes with a 4.7 inch display and features HTC Sense UI 3.5 layered on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. HTC has also added Beats Audio technology for better audio output, and bundles a pair of earphones as well. The Best Buy price of HTC Sensation XL is Rs 38,800.

This new handset is the latest inclusion to HTC's Sensation family after the Sensation, Sensation 4G and Sensation XE. Sporting a massive 4.7 inch Super LCD display, Sensation XL comes with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, which might be worrisome considering the display size.

Under the slim 9.9 mm body, Sensation XL houses a single-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion MSM8255T mobile processor coupled with Adreno 205 graphics. This mobile chipset supports dual-channel low-power DDR2 memory clocked at 333 MHz. The same mobile processor and chipset configuration has been used in the Nokia Lumia 800, HTC Titan, Samsung Omnia W, Samsung Focus S, and a couple of other smartphones. However, Sensation XL features only 768 MB of RAM.

HTC has used Android 2.3.x Gingerbread mobile operating system with HTC Sense 3.5 user interface on it. Sensation XL features the Beats Audio technology that incorporates pre-configured audio profiles loaded on phones, which become active as soon as the Beats earphones are plugged in the 3.5 mm audio port.

HTC has added an 8 megapixel camera at the rear with auto-focus and LED flash with the ability to record 720p HD video. At the front lies a 1.3 megapixel camera for video calls and chatting.
The phone's 1600 mAh battery promises up to seven hours of talktime on 3G. Other features of this high-end HTC handset include a digital compass, active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, gyro sensor, an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor and a gravity sensor.

The price of this smartphone might be a bit of a hiccup because except for the massive display and Beats Audio technology, this smartphone has nothing new to offer.

Google Nexus-branded tablet with Android Honeycomb 3.0 | Price  | Specs | Review | Features

After Google’s Nexus One and Nexus S flagship smartphones, Google join hands with LG to release its own Nexus Branded Tablet using Android Honeycomb 3.0 software.
Just like it did with HTC (for the Nexus One) and Samsung (for the Nexus S), Google will work closely with LG to develop the Nexus tablet. It will most likely be optimized for Android 3.0 “Honeycomb,” and will be free of the software issues that have been plaguing Motorola’s Xoom, the first Honeycomb tablet on the market.
At first glance, LG seems like an odd choice for Google to rely on for a flagship tablet. The company’s inexpensive Optimus One Android phones have been a hit with price-conscious consumers, and it’s also bringing the 3D-capable G-Slate tablet to T-Mobile (pictured above), but LG has yet to prove that it can deliver a flagship mobile device.

Microsoft: Glitchy WP7 patch for Samsung phones Resumes

A little more than a week after deploying a Windows Phone 7 patch that bricked a "small percentage" of Samsung-made devices, Microsoft says it has "fixed" and re-released the update.
On the official Windows Phone blog, Microsoft writer Michael Stroh promised that engineers had "pinpointed and fixed problems" with the patch, which was originally released last Monday. (Credit to WMPoweruser for spotting the updated post.)

Owners of Samsung-built Windows Phone handsets like the Omnia 7 and the Focus should be able to attempt installation process again once prompted by their phones, Stroh wrote. "We apologize again for the delay and continue looking for ways to improve the update process."

Microsoft halted deployment of the Windows Phone patch for Samsung handsets after users complained that the update either stalled halfway through the process or bricked their phones, rendering them useless. Microsoft reportedly told owners of frozen handsets that they'd have to send them back in for replacements.

The update—the very first for Microsoft's rebooted Windows Phone 7 platform—appeared to work fine for users of WIndows Phone handsets from other manufacturers, such as HTC and LG.

In a post last week, Stroh claimed that only a "small number" of Samsung-made phones had trouble with the patch, adding that nine out of 10 overall Windows Phone users updated their devices without a hitch.

Last Monday's patch was intended as a prelude to two larger Windows Phone software updates.

However, some users are still complaining that the patch won’t install on their handsets. Here is a small selection of comments from the WMPowerusers:
“This update failed for me. I get error 800705B4. Fortunately the phone is fine.”
“I also got error 800705B4. Samsung Focus”
“didn’t work for me either got code 800705B4, i tried it twice bloody crap”
“Not working here either. Got code 800705B4 as well. Then tried again, and no dice…. different code “C100…” something. jeez. Samsung Focus on Rogers in Toronto.”
“Had the 800705B4 error code. Reboot the phone. Clear up 50 GB of hard disk space. Cleared up and had more than 5GB on the phone. Tried on my PC via Zune, Tried on my Mac via the connector. What in the world is Microsoft doing? Telstra here in AU.”

World's Smaller and Cheaper Iphone Nano  Iphone 5 Rumors
Iphone 5 cheap in price

The latset iPhone 5 rumors suggest that the Apple iPhone 5 wont be going Nano because analyst are saying that its impossible for the iPhone 5 to have a smaller display. The more likely scenario would be is a release of a budget iPhone with a much more lower price tag and lesser capabilities to match the price.

We still can’t say definitively that Apple is going to release a new phone this year but a lot of tech insiders are saying that Apple is pressured to put something out to combat the growing threat of the Android smartphones. As we all know, most of the world’s gadget makers, if not all have already announced a product to be released this year.
So what do you think about a cheaper, less capable iPhone 5? Will you be getting one?
As for this writer, I think a cheaper smartphone alternative is a great move by Apple (if ever the rumors are true). It makes perfect business sense for me to make an Apple branded product and release it for the budget market. Who wouldn’t buy it?
It was only about a week ago that Bloomberg News and the Wall Street Journal got the tech world whipped into a frenzy with word of a "smaller, cheaper" iPhone—one that, depending on who was doing the telling, would be anywhere from a third to 50 percent smaller than the iPhone 4, complete with cheaper internal components and a budget price.

The chatter of a smaller iPhone raised the possibility of Apple breaking with tradition and unveiling multiple iPhone models this summer: a smaller, cheaper iPhone and a new flagship, with Taiwanese tech site DigiTimes fanning the flames with talk of an iPhone with a larger, four-inch display.

Enticing stuff … maybe a little too enticing, and by Thursday night, the New York Times had arrived with a bucket of icy-cold water.

No, there will not be a smaller iPhone "any time soon," the Times report insists. The N97 code-name for the supposed pint-sized model? Actually, it referred to the Verizon iPhone, says the story, which also makes no mention of a larger version.

Instead, expect something that's "similar in size" to the current iPhone 4, perhaps with new voice-command features to "make it easier to operate" and new "innards" resulting in "a less expensive model."

The article also dredges up an old Steve Jobs quote, in which he slams Android as "very, very fragmented," with a senior Apple exec adding that it does "not make sense" to "make multiple iPhone models," particularly if it means forcing developers to retool their apps for different screen resolutions.

In others words (and with apologies to the makers of "Highlander"): there can only be one. Edit: What I meant to say was, "There can *be* only One!" (Thanks, Jeffrey.)

Still, the Times didn't dash all of the recent Apple rumors, with last night's story confirming the recent talk of a revamped MobileMe, minus the annual $99 subscription fee but plus the ability to store photos, music, and videos in a digital "locker."

The article also notes that free, cloud-based storage might allow Apple to sell cheaper iPhones with less storage, given that you'd be able to stream your media from MobileMe. It's an idea that may look good on paper, but sounds less promising once you consider carrier bandwidth caps, not to mention the fact that MobileMe streaming won't do you much good without a decent data connection.

Apple has yet to announce anything official about the next iPhone, and likely won't until this summer, when the company's annual Worldwide Developer Conference—typically the venue for new iPhone unveilings—kicks off.

Nokia PR 1.1 firmware update for the Nokia N8, C7 and C6-01 phones | Nokia mobile phones firmware update
Nokia has let the world know of its PR 1.1 firmware update for the Nokia N8, C7 and C6-01 phones – as the company posted a top-level change log on its website. If you don’t want to be bothered by lengthy explanation, we’ve condensed the reports for your reading pleasure.

As expected, Nokia has preloaded Ovi Store 2.0 into the new firmware – unlike previous update. The company has received some complaints from users due to that one inconvenience, so it’s one less thing to cross on the list.
The upgrade features Social 1.2, where you’ll experience improvement in uploading pictures and video. It also has new Ovi Maps data, enabling you access to more navigable countries. But since it’s still version 3.4, it has yet to support multi-touch. If you want such feature, you can try the Nokia Beta Labs for v1.6 instead.

The update will bring your Quickoffice to version 6.4.166. Specifically for Nokia n8 owners, you will get free editing license. Others can expect improved zooming features on the productivity software. Other additions include improvements in Nokia Email, Dialer, Landscape QWERTY layout, music player screensaver and more.
The PR 1.1 firmware update comes at a whopping 170Mb.

Detects Skin Cancer with iPhone Handyscope Software | iPhone Cancer Software Download
Your iPhone can be turned into a skin cancer detection gadget with the help of a new product available on the market known as Handyscope.
The remarkable new tool plugs into the Apple smartphone and using an app converts it into a dermatascope - which doctors use when looking for melanoma. The device uses a polarising light to detect whether a mole is cancerous and then takes a photo and sends it to a doctor for inspection.
Images can even be uploaded to a second opinion service where world-renowned specialists can weigh in with their view.
However, at 995 pounds, it's unlikely to be used by the average mobile user.
Cancer experts have welcomes the gadget. "This is a powerful piece of kit which could be very useful for people in the profession assessing whether a mole is cancerous," the Daily Mail quoted Dr David Pye, a cancer researcher based at Salford University, as saying.
"Sending images around the world for expert diagnosis could be incredibly helpful and this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this before," he added. The Handyscope, made by German-based firm FotoFinder, can be purchased online and the app can be bought from the Apple iTunes store.

HTC have launched today a new Android full touchscreen which will soon and only be hitting the European market in November. Its not a groundbreaking device but rather a neat, small and compact mobile with adequate hardware on board. It will be relatively thin (11.7 mm) and lightweight (115 g), running on Android 2.2 (Froyo) along side HTC Sense, the Gratia will have a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 touchscreen display, and will include a 600Mhz processor, 512MB ROM and 384MB RAM, and has a 5 megapixel camera on the back, with a VGA cam on the front there.
Its got the usual connectivity features too, bluetooth, WiFi, a g-sensor, digital compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and microSD card slot. What’s different is that HTC looks to roll out up to three different colours for the mobile, rather unusual for the Taiwanese firm, but its most welcomed and feels abit like when Apple rolls out iPods (except they produce +10 colours), we’d love to see HTC do more in the way of colours.

With Windows Phone 7 interest already waning as punters realise that the operating system offers nothing more than Apple's IOS or Google's Android, HTC decided it would be a good time to release the Gratia, a pint-sized Android 2.2 phone. In fact the Gratia looks to be almost identical to the Aria, an HTC smartphone that's being sold in the US by AT&T.
The Gratia runs the latest version of the Android OS and is skinned with HTC's Sense user interface. Curiously HTC is being cagey with the Gratia's specifications, mentioning only that it has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera and soft edges. The device is four inches long and weighs 115g.
There's no word on the processor, memory or screen size, but going by its identical American brother, a 600MHz processor powers the Gratia and the display is a 3.2-inch affair with a rather disappointing resolution of 480x320. There's 384MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM, with a microSD slot for data storage.
