Every Year TamilNadu Government Conduct TANCET Examination for MBA, MCA ME and MTech students. According to TANCET Scores every student get seats in good college.
Each time Anna university Conduct this Exam and Counseling in Coimbatore GCT (Govt College of Technology). 
Using TANCET Score every student can join in any engineering colleges affiliated to Anna University.

Anna university separately conduct counseling for joining in Anna University Campus.
Counselling for Admission to M.C.A. (Regular) / M.C.A. (Evening - SS) Degree
Programme 2010-11 in University Departments of Anna University Chennai

So after Tancet results announced you have to manually apply for counseling.
TANCET Rank List will be published by community wise OC, BC, MBC , SC or ST
This time ME / MTech Tancet scores has been around 15 - 70 marks out of 100. Based on this, counselling will be conducted.
And for MCA / MBA, as usual scores are low.
In 2009 for OC students who secured around 35 - 70 Marks got seats in Good College. So try to predict your college using your TANCET score.

    Hi Sakthivel your score in TANCET 2010 is good but its difficult to get top colleges in chennai like SVCE, SSN. But don't get discouraged by this fact attend your counseling well as you can get good colleges.

    Hi Arun,
    You secured good score, but i don't know your community ranking. Govt college Seats will starts to fill on the first day itself. According to your specialization Biotechnology so there's a chance for getting seat in top college. But am not sure about Govt college. Don loose your hope attend your counseling by a chance you may get Govt college.

    27.212 is descent score for ME.
    You're OC community i couldn't predict but possibilities are there in colleges like Hindustan, Park. Don't loose your hope.

    Before choosing any college in counselling check thoroughly about that college infrastructure, Placement, Faculty details, Labs,
    and also use TNEA vacancy position of the colleges in date wise to know the college ranking.

    I scored 9.75 in tancet 2010 MCA - comm rank 141 overall rank 3809. I am able to manage to get seat in St.Joseph in chennai. So far most of seats in good colleges got filled (as on 26/Jul/10).

    As you said Chemical Engineering possibilities over there but GOVT colleges is difficult. Sometime behalf of luck you may be in GOVT college.

    You're applying in Hadicapped reservation and your score is 32.422 for M.E cse your expectation is GCT coimbatore or Anna univ Coimbatore fine i think you may get seat in those. Bcoz last year one of the guy got seat in reservation. I think its happen this year too with little variation in marks. All the best.
