IS THE ONLY EVIDENCE FOR UFO.
The meteorological Department seems to have declined to comment on it.
No other channel seemed to have covered it (except NDTV Hindu).

Pendulum like yellowish spot light oscillation found in sky.
Its like shape of the moon. But moving from right to left.
People found that strange light in skies of Mylapore and Tnagar.
It appears for more than 15 minutes.
The strange phenomena occur in sky that light has been in white color which oscillate in right to left and left to right. More people watched that strange light.
That pendulum like white yellowish light found in the sky roamed to and fro in sky. After seeing that i scared and surprised. It looks yellowish color.
Its not a meteorological test light its really different and strange to see.
That light moved from left to right. Some peoples took pictures, images and videos of that using mobile phones. I too tried to took that but my mobile failed to click it clearly.
That happens by night around 9.50 pm clearly visible in areas of Chennai, Mylapore, Madipakkam, Tnagar, Triplicane.
It clearly visible area of Beach.
What was the light?
Is any Strange thing happening in sky?
Is any Galaxy change?
Is Al-liens reached here?
This has been seen few days back in China and viewers reported live visuals from Australia and Buckhurst Hill.
If any one seen like this please post your comments and share your experience ASAP.My doubt is whether someone fired the laser beam from earth to sky???

i saw the light, it was movin super fast as in laser show.
I too saw one small light..a big light & a very big light..i suddenly saw my idly turning into space ship & carried me away

My freind saw that light for some time. that was moving like a pendulum over the clouds..
when I asked him thro mobile he said like that..
Another friend from soolai, He only send alert as message to watch NDTV Hindu..when I asked him about that..he told he was afraid and no one in the floor so went back to his room..

We in Australia saw a bright light moving left to right in sync with the time you posted this (abt 2:am Melbourne Australia time). It was amazingly beautiful but also scary.

There were reports of strange lights over the skies of Chennai yesterday night. NDTV Hindu had a live call in show yesterday night from around 10pm – 11pm and a lot of callers reported the sightings from many parts of the city. Most people described it as a bright white light which moved like a pendulum and this is the second such sighting in recent time.
NDTV Hindu tried getting our weatherman Mr Ramanan on the show to comment but he said that he cannot commet on the reports as he is on leave, looks like he is on a long leave
In other news overnight a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Andaman islands at around 1:20 AM and thankfully no major Tsunami alert was issued.
Similar thing happened on 19th evening around 7.15 - 7.30pm. Bright light split in to two and moved at a very good speed in 2 opposite direction... It was strange. May be 31st of May is just the continuation of it....
I could spot this swinging lighs form Gopalapuram . It was more towards the North Madras direction I could sopt this light.
Even my friends form Royapettah also happened to see this.
STRANGE LIGHTS SEEN IN THE SKY - CHENNAI
Chennai People are witnessing strange lights in the sky, for the Past two months approximately.
These strange lights are seen for the past two months in regular intervals, in various parts of Chennai. One doesn’t know whether this light occurs in the day as none reported till now witnessing these sorts of lights during the day. Moreover, these lights aren’t visible during the day so we can’t yet jump to a conclusion it occurs only at night. People say it lasts for ten minutes or less, but with our own conscience it was seen for over an hour continuously.
It was us a small group of friends in the terrace by evening (29th April 2010, 18.28 PM). We found something moving in the clouds, indeed tearing apart the clouds, my first feel was that of a bird flying, my friend countered me saying it must be a flight moving in the clouds. It came to us as a shock when we saw that light started moving to and fro in a rapid pace. We had to closely observe for a few seconds in silence then we identified that it was a light ray which was heading north but couldn’t guess where it originated from.
This light travelled in a linear motion and there were no twists and turns as witnessed by few on NDTV HINDU yesterday (31.5.2010). It was yellowish white in color. If necessary to compare this light to a smaller outlet, then we can compare it to that of a light comes from a torch in a dark room where you can see the light rays travelling in a linear motion, or the sun rays which is seen inside your house with all dust particles in it. Only thing is that this light ray was heading north. To an extent the speed and power of this light was that of the rays from a lighthouse, it is actually even more but just for an easy comparison that anyone can be familiar with.
Experts haven’t come to a conclusion nor did they throw any light on this as they are still clueless. But, Indian experts believe that these cannot be any meteor shower or an alien appearance. They doubt, some experiments happening at NASA. NDTV-HINDU news channel aired a live show on this issue where 30 to 40 local people called and shared their experiences from various parts of Chennai which lasted for two hours yesterday (31.5.2010).
Thanks to NDTV-HINDU which threw more light on this mystery and hope we would come to know the reason behind this soon. As of now experts and the media asked none to panic.

Definitely its a UFO ..its not a thing that UFO should be in flying saucers..they could be in also in the form of light , so that they can travel faster...so that they can materialize and dematerialize , but the govt and meteorologists will hide the truth from public and say some lies...

Hi, my curiosity just led me to read the posts in here. I also learnt of this chennai UFO light from a friend. But, I'm in Melbourne Australia. I'm just wondering the one from Melbourne reported on a similar sighting. May I know where exactly did you see this?

Any source of bright light (eg. Laser source) hanging from a helium gas baloon can give an illusion like this. This type of apparition was seen in the Bangalore skies way back in 1993. A prankster later on admitted that he did that to scare the public. Wait for the Chennai prankster's admission before jumping to any conclusion.
Wat Hindi, Tamil, North, South, etc..??? Wait for few more months guys..
