Mumbai-bound express derailed 130 passengers Killed 
120 injured on May 28 2010 morning 1:30


At least 13 passengers were killed and 150 injured when 13 coaches of the Howrah-Kurla Express got derailed in West Midnapore

13 coaches of a Mumbai-bound express train derailed costs 75 passengers life and 104 injured. It happens at West Midnapore district. 

IAF launches rescue efforts

Maoists has been suspected behind this. Indian Air Force helicopters have been pressed into service at the accident spot and have airlifted some of the injured to hospitals.
Five of these coaches were also hit by a speeding goods train.
 
The blast took place at 1.30 am, when the express was running between the Khemasoli and Sardiya stations, about 135 km from Kolkata, the sources said.

Compensation for Train Accident :

Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was in Kolkata, rushed to the spot early Friday morning. She blamed the West Bengal government for the tragedy and announced Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of each of the dead and Rs 1 lakh for the injured.

    ITS INDEED A SHOCKING NEWS THAT FROM LAST MANY DAYS RAILWAYS ARE BEING TARGETTED.GOVERNMENT SHOULD TAKE HARSH STEP SO THAT THE PASSENGERS CAN TRAVEL IN THE SAFE MANNER.THERE SHOUL BE ONLY ONE FORCE SO THAT IT CAN BE GIVEN RESPONSIBILITY AND WE SHOULD GET ONLY PROPER AND ACCOUNTABLE FORCE.---MANMEET SINGH---MUMBAI.
