Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has decided to delete the controversial song written and sung by Kamal Haasan from Manmadhan Ambu.
The film is facing the wrath of the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) for the song "Kannodu Kannai Kalandhal" which speaks much about woman's desire and has also references to Hindu deities like Aranganathar and Sri Varalakshmi.
On Sunday, Kamal had clarified at the promotional launch of the film in Kerala that "I do not think that the song offends Hindu sentiments. The Censor Board has passed the film with a 'U' certificate. The song will not be deleted".
Today after their was demonstrations outside Kamal Haasan's office in Alwarpet by Hindu organizations, the producers agreed to remove the song.
Udhayanidhi does not want any controversies at this stage to hamper the release of the film.
Later Kamal Haasan in a press statement said that he would have retained the song on his own. But since he did not want in any way for the business of the film to be affected, he has agreed for the deletion of the song
